About Christ Church

The mission of the Church is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.

For over 50 years, Christ Church has been faithful to God’s greatest commandment: love for God, neighbors, and self alike.

We are a community that believes that in loving and serving others, we find our purpose and hope in God.

Our Approach

We seek to live by Christ’s teachings.

We place Worship as our first priority

We believe that strong communities create strong disciples.

Our Core Values

We believe that diversity is not simply something to be acknowledged—it is a gift that strengthens the Body of Christ. We are enriched by the worship, leadership, and lived faith of people of every gender, nationality, sexual orientation, age, and background. This commitment is not abstract; it is visible in the life of our parish, where our clergy, staff, lay leadership and congregation reflect the breadth of God’s people.

Our congregation gathers from across six continents and from many corners of the Anglican Communion. We believe deeply that God calls all people—each uniquely created in His image—into lives of prayer, community, and service. That calling shapes who we are and how we worship. It is expressed in our liturgy, in the music we sing, in the way we form disciples of all ages, and in the leadership we raise up from within our midst.

We Celebrate Diversity

We are also grateful to be a spiritual home for those walking the path of recovery. Our 12-step communities are an integral part of our common life, offering spaces of honesty, healing, and grace. Their presence reminds us that the Church is not a gathering of the perfected, but a community of people continually being restored by God’s mercy.

In a world often marked by division, we strive to be a parish where difference is not erased but honored—where we listen well, love deeply, and grow together into the fullness of Christ. Here, all are welcomed, all are needed, and all are invited to share in the life and mission of God.

We Foster Healing

The people of Christ Church strive to follow the way of Jesus, who embodied the breadth and depth of God’s love throughout his life. Through Holy Baptism and regular sharing in the Eucharist, we are formed in faith and fellowship. We celebrate together life’s milestones – births and baptisms, griefs and sorrows, healing and resurrection. We carry that same spirit of community and connection into the world as we strive to love and serve others in the name of Christ.

We keep sacred time

Amid the busyness of life, we gather to pause, to pray, and to be reoriented toward God’s presence.

On Sundays, we gather for the Holy Eucharist—the heart of our common life—offered with reverence, beauty, and clarity in the Anglican tradition. Whether in the quiet simplicity of Rite I, the joyful energy of JoyMass with children and families, or the full choral expression of Rite II, our worship is shaped by Scripture, the Book of Common Prayer, and music that invites the whole congregation into prayer. The choir, organ, and other instruments lead us not as performers, but as fellow worshipers, helping us lift our voices together in praise.

Across seasons and services, we keep time with the Church year—walking through Advent’s waiting, the penitence of Lent, the joy of Easter, and the steady growth of ordinary time. These rhythms are not incidental; they form us, teaching us how to mark our lives by the story of salvation.

At every service, all are invited to the altar, God’s table. Here, in word and sacrament, silence and song, we are gathered, nourished, and sent—again and again—into the life God is calling us to live.

We Steward Children and Youth

Our 9:15 a.m. JoyMass is designed especially with children and young families in mind, but it is no less reverent, no less beautiful, and no less rooted in the Church’s worship. Here, children are formed in the rhythms of liturgy and Scripture through joyful, accessible participation—hearing the Gospel proclaimed in ways they can grasp, offering prayers in their own voices, and experiencing the beauty of music, movement, and sacred space at a level that meets them where they are. This is not a “watered-down” service, but a deeply intentional one, where wonder, curiosity, and delight become the building blocks of lifelong faith.

As children grow, they take on meaningful roles in our common life—serving as acolytes, readers, and ushers, and discovering that worship is something we do together as the Body of Christ. Our youth group, led by ordained clergy, creates space for young people to ask big questions—about God, the world, and themselves—and to expect honest, thoughtful, and accessible answers in the context of Christian community.

At Christ Church, children are not an afterthought—they are central to who we are. They are always welcome in every aspect of our life together. We do not have “adults-only” events, because we believe hospitality means making room for the full household of God. Our nursery is available as a resource for families who need it, but it is never an expectation or requirement. The presence of children—in all their energy, noise, and joy—is not a distraction from worship; it is a sign of the Church fully alive.

We Serve as Christ Served Us

Each week at Christ Church, parishioners can be found living out the Gospel in tangible, local ways—serving not out of obligation, but in response to the love with which Christ has first served us. At the heart of this work is our St. Michael First Responder Chapel, a quiet, consecrated space open 24/7/365, offering rest, prayer, and hope to law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel who daily place themselves in harm’s way for the sake of our community.

We are regularly present with our neighbors at the Men’s and Women’s Extensions of Cobb County, sharing meals and fellowship with those navigating the complex realities of homelessness and addiction. These are not simply acts of charity, but relationships—formed over time, grounded in dignity, and sustained by mutual care.

Each summer, Christ Church plays a vital role in the MUST Ministries Summer Lunch Program, helping to provide meals for more than 300 children who depend on free and reduced lunch during the school year. When those programs pause for the summer months, we step in—ensuring that nourishment, consistency, and care continue without interruption.

Across all of this, we understand mission not as something “extra,” but as essential to who we are. Whether through prayer, presence, or provision, we seek to serve as Christ served us—meeting people where they are, honoring their dignity, and bearing witness to the grace that has first been given to us.
